The South Carolina Premium Assistance Program was established in 2008 to assist state residence with Hemophilia and von Willebrand Disease. The program offers the opportunity to receive assistance with health insurance premiums from Patient Services, INC. (PSI)

Who is Eligible?
- Diagnosis: Hemophilia or Von Willebrand Disease
- Severity: Mild, Moderate, or Severe
- The Underinsured and Uninsured
- Meet financial eligibility criteria
- Eligible or currently enrolled in the DHEC Hemophilia Assistance Program
PSI offers assistance with cost of health insurance premiums, prescription co-pays, Medicare Part D, and other services that may be helpful to persons with hemophilia or von Willebrand Disease.
Patient Services, Inc.
Patient Services, Inc. (PSI) is the “ground breaking” 501(c) 3 non-profit, charitable organization of its kind. Over two decades ago, they recognized the importance of providing a “safety net” for patients with chronic illnesses who were struggling to keep up with expensive premiums and copayments. Since 1989 PSI has led the charge to provide much needed patient assistance, soliciting donations to fund thousands of patients and their families in a myriad of disease areas.
How do I Apply for PSI and the South Carolina Premium Assistance Program?

To apply for assistance: Click on the top menu bar for Patients. Apply- follow the directions. You will need to have several documents so read carefully to be sure you have everything you need before filling out an online application.
You can call PSI and ask additional questions and have an application sent to you to fill out and mail in. Call 1.800.366.7741 - and follow the prompts for the South Carolina Bleeding Disorders Program.
